Bear Lover I am looking for a dog for my apartment

I am looking for a small dog for my apartment that can stand loneliness well and does not need to run out every day. I would like to ask you to recommend a breed that is easy to raise.

Have you any experience with dogs?

Maybe Cocker Spaniel or French Buldog?

    Welcome Marcela and Timson

Almost any of the small dogs are good for apartments. However, it is important that you allow your dog to have time outside. Being outside helps dogs become socialised, and is a great form of exercise! If you are in an apartment, I would also make sure that your dog has plenty of toys and activities to keep them engaged. A bored dog may become a barker which can annoy your neighbours.

A French Buldog like Timson said isn't a bad idea. Possible a Cavalier King Charles or a terrier type breed could be some other options?

Do you have any other animals, Timson or Marcela? We would love for both of you to go over to the Introduce Yourself section of the forum and tell us all a little about yourselves
    Hi There, how are you?
I run a blog aimed at helping pet owners learn about their pets. It's only small at the moment, but the content is honest, well researched and hopefully informative. If you are interested in visiting it, please do. I would love to hear your feedback.

Re: I am looking for a dog for my apartment

cats do alot better home alone, dogs will usually get very lonely and almost all dogs need daily walks. I cant say too much about small breeds, i have only lived with a german shepherd and a golden retriever, but anytime my roomate would leave, the dogs would cry for about 30 minutes then just sit in the owners bed all day until they came home. On the other hand i think it really depends on the dogs personality, they are all different just like humans. The part about running out everyday is gonna be kind of tough though because dogs have ALOT of energy, and if they don't run outside they might get anxious and start destroying things in your apartment or do weird things. One time me and my friend left the German Shepherd home alone for about 5 hours and she (the shepherd) got so anxious that she went around the house eating radom things from the floor and ate a bunch of potting soil from the plants. Then when we got home at night she threw up 3 times, it wasnt bad for the dog or anything she was just happy to see us, but just keep in mind you might have alot of messes on your hand if you leave the dog home alone for long times... but depends on personality and breed so hopefull you find your perfect dog buddy :)
