Crab Attack Crocodiles in Florida Spawning 2 months earlier this year due to Hot temperatures

Hey everyone, just thought this was an interesting new story coming from Florida this year. There were several warm days in February this year that caused alligators to mate almost 2 months earlier than last year. Not a huge story but interesting how animal insticts tell these beautiful creatures do have babies based on temperature and overall environmental factors. It's almost like they are more in tune with the world than us humans because they can read weather cycles. Kind of like in those horror movies when you see all the animals fleeing in one direction when something really bad is about to happen. By the way the article i read said that these warmer temperatures are NOT uncommon for Florida, so this isnt anything amazingly special, just thought it was cool the alligators take cues from weather cycles.

It is actually quite fascinating how animals use their environment to control their mating behaviours. Barramundi, for example, change their sex depending on if they are in salt or fresh water when they migrate. http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/Species/Ba...s/default.aspx

I wonder if having the alligators mate so much earlier has any real impact on their young surviving?

i don't think it will impact their survival too much more than humans invading their habitat. awesome link by the way, i love reading about fish their bodies are like some kind of super computer that adapts to everything lol.
