    Top Dog Hi There

We're new to this site and by we, I refer to my Dachshunds, 15 y/o Trixie and 9 y/o Mickey. We've spent a bit of time looking around and love what we see. Looking forward to interacting with everyone

    Re: Hi There

Warmest greetings! Lovely photo! I assume that Trixie is the hirsute dachshund on the right? The first dog I ever had as a child was a dachsund. I saved up my pocket money and got him from a local kennels. My parents weren't too pleased at first, but agreed finally to let me keep him. (That was 60 years ago, haha!)

You assumed correctly!! Trixie is a wire haired Dachshund and Mickey is the standard smooth. So glad to hear you were able to keep your Dachshund. I'm sure it was the beginning of a lifelong love affair

    Re: Hi There

I have never had another dachshund. However, do you know Benny Archuleta? See: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/lovedachs/info
I don't know whether his group is still active, but you could enquire.

Benny is famous for having written a piece of writing called "The Rescuer's Rainbow Bridge". You can read it here: https://www.facebook.com/notes/benny...3532075427922/

He also wrote another piece, less well known but also very good, called "Reunion at Rainbow Bridge". This is at at: https://www.facebook.com/notes/benny...7215555726245/

I like his writing, not just about dachshunds. He is quoted on the Rainbow Bridge page of my own website.
