Thread: Cat litter mat

  1. #1

    Cat litter mat

My cat constantly spreads the pieces of litter around its toilet. I think, maybe I will buy something like that mat (I want like number 3) Does anyone use such litter mat? What do you think are it is useful?

    Re: Cat litter mat

Hi I'm Katty. Few words about the pieces of litter everywhere. To fix this problem you need to choose the right type of litter. There are usually: clumping clay type, non- clumping clay type, recycled paper type, crystal and pine type. Which one exactly do you use? You can see at Each one has pros and cons. You need to choose one that will not stick to your cat's paws.

    Re: Cat litter mat

I agree with Katty, cats can be quite particular about the type of kitty litter that you provide them. Grace21 didn't mention how old their cat is or if this might be a factor; however, it is worth a try changing the litter and seeing if you get any results.

Also, you could consider a litter box with higher walls. If you don't have an older cat who may struggle to climb into them, having higher walls can stop any litter from getting kicked out. Just an option?

I have never used one of the mats Grace21 is talking about, sorry, however, I'm sure that as long as it allows you to easily clean up it will do its job. Many people I know use the budget version of an old newspaper, so having a mat looks very lavish to me :)
