    "Pitbulls and Parolees" Dog Rescue

The Villalobos dog rescue in New Orleans does some wonderful work. It is run by Tia Maria Torres and her family, and staffed by parolees, usually men who have been in jail for drug offences. These men have found a new life helping the strays and abandoned dogs.

They mainly rescue Pitbulls, a breed which is much misunderstood, and dogs which are very often abandoned by uncaring 'owners'.
But there are also the "Swamp Dogs" -those of any breed who have been found as strays in the swamp areas. They work hard and diligently to re-home these dogs in their 'forever homes'.

This Dog Rescue touches my heart. Many blessings to them.

Below is series 6 Episode 10...

But anyone who wishes to watch the whole lot, or any programme can usually find them on YouTube.

That's fascinating, Tobi. I had read about this organisation somewhere, but the video explains everything so clearly. The programme gives new chances to both dogs and humans. Wonderful!

    A very interesting concept.
( I believe I mentioned in another thread the shocking number of Pit Bulls 'euthanized' in America each year - 800,000).
Both the dogs and the men getting a second chance at life.
The love and companionship, life transforming for both parties.
All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.
