    Woodpecker attacked ....

    ... by weasel!

    What a picture!

PS: I hear the woodpecker landed, the weasel jumped off and the woodpecker made good his escape.

    I love a happy ending!

All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.

What an amazing picture! And a very unusual event. I'm glad it ended well....as I noticed the weasel had no parachute-pack! It must have clung on for dear life and got such a shock. I hope the woodpecker was unharmed too.

This has gone 'viral' now and rightly so - what a picture! I do a fair bit of photography but trying to 'shoot' birds is difficult enough when they're perched let alone flying!

Yes, they are distinctly unhelpful! I've had numerous photographic tussles with cormorants. They dive ... you wait .... then the blighter pops up well away from where you expected him to be!
But when they 'sun dry' their wings, then you've got them!

This shot (Woodpecker): A shot in a lifetime. You can't plan for photo opportunities like that. The right place, right time and all that ...
