    Gifts From The Crows

A little girl who feeds wild crows - and gets 'gifts' as a "thank you"

    Charming!

All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.

That's just an amazing wonderful story! It's very moving. The crows don't just want to take....they want to give back something, and they want to interact. This article is a real treat.

What a beautiful relationship. I love how the little girl treasures her gifts. It's quite the collection!

I heard crows like to collect shiny things. Gonna feed some crows to make them give me jewelry. *being thrown with stones by forum members here*

That's crazy that crows are that intelligent to do that. I guess I never realized how smart even crows are. Animals really don't get the credit that deserve.

    Re: Gifts From The Crows

I have been friends with a wild Crow for over 2 years.
Last year sometime, I heard a big commotion outside. My Crow and another friend of his were trying to see off a Buzzard who had entered their territory.
Crows and Buzzards are sworn enemies. I presume for good reason.
I decided to show willing and join in.
I went into the field above which the Buzzard was circling, and started making get-out-of-here Crow noises.
The Buzzard decided to give up when he saw two Crows and one crazy Crow-like human, and flew into the next field, then settled on a tree there.
But I ran in there too, through a hedge and carried on making Crow noises.
The Buzzard flew away and didn't come back.
On my walk back home, my friendly Crow (Koori) picked up a tiny stick from the top of the hedge and flew over me, dropping it straight in front of me, then sat in a tree and watched. I picked it up and thanked him. I am sure it was a gift.

What is a buzzard? Also, "one crazy Crow-like human". Did you look like a Tengu?

A Crow-like human. Wouldn't that be a sight to see

It is very sweet that Koori recognised that you were trying to help and wanted to give you a gift. Do you still see Koori often Tobi?

Also, please somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a Buzzard is just a general name used for birds of prey? Like hawks or vultures? However, that may not be completely correct Monox. :)
