Thread: CHICKENS!!

  1. #1

HI everyone i'm new on the website and wanted some advice about chickens!
My family want some chickens but are extremly worried about foxes because we know we have a fox on my estate as everyone has seen it and if we kept it at my grandad's house he has a full field but again there will be foxes all over the place as its in the country.
I just wondered how chicken owners keep there pets out of danger from the foxes as i have heard stuff about foxes jumping walls and ripping wire and we would be devastated if this happened.
    thanks xx :)

Correct chicken wire, the diamond shaped fencing, not the square stuff which breaks easily. There needs to be a top on the cage to stop the fox from climbing the fencing and going into the coupe that way and you should have asecure house for them that can be closed and locked with a full floor for the nighttime as an extra security so that the chickens are safe at night when most predators are out.
The reason dogs are great is they wag their tails, not their tongues.
