The Empress
written July 10, 2006

A cat reins over this street.
Her sleek tail wraps about her,
She watches the lowly crows,
From her silver Lexus throne.
Her calico fur trappings,
And her long razor sharp claws,
Looking well groomed and polished.
The sun is falling on her.
She descends upon the eve,
Looking for good dance partners,
And little mice to toy with.
She’s walking confidently,
She is a huntress prowling,
The empress of all she sees.
