Sounds like some fungal infection. Maybe fin rot. Adding a little salt might help
I believe general rule of thumb is an inch to inch and a half of fish per gallon. And they sell weekend feeders at any pet stores or walmsrt that should keep your fishhappy while your gone. Good...
