Working breeds: Kuvasz
Origin
This dog originated in Tibet and traveled through Turkey to Hungary. The Kuvasok (the plural form) direct ancestors are unknown, but conjecture points to the Maremma Sheepdog and the Pyrenean Mountain Dog. The name of the Kuvasz comes from the corrupted words in Turkish and Arabian that describe the incredible guarding instincts of this breed.
