Working breeds: Komondor
Origin
Nomadic Magyars brought this breed with them to Hungary in the 800s. It is unknown if these nomads developed the breed or crossed their dogs with wolf cubs. Today's Komondorok (the plural form) greatly resemble the massive Russian herdsmen dog, the Aftscharka, which the Huns found when passing through Russia. The Komondorok are somewhat more compact however.
