Cat feeding problems

Hello, this is my first posting. I have a 10 year old cat and in the past few weeks he has been behaving strangely. He didnt eat his food for a few days, which is very unusual behaviour. When his food is put down for him he wont eat it. After watching him i noticed he seems to be frightened of what is in his bowl and im wondering if he has been stung by an insect that may have been in his food bowl. I have tried giving him different food, a different bowl but he is still frightened but i can tell he is hungry. Can anybody help :?:

How about trying to put a little out without a bowl and see if he will eat. If not then he's not afraid of the bowl and he needs to see the vet. You could try canned food also.
