View Full Version : Tongue injury

I went to the store this morning for about 15 minutes, came home and my dog had a severly lacerated tongue (plus a piece of it is missing). The laceration is split around his canine tooth. He had a seizure about a month ago and was tested by my vet. Apparently, all his test results were very good. They told me that I should just monitor him. I have a doggie door and checked the yard for blood or remnants of his tongue and could not find either. There was no evidence in the house. The side effects of the seizure had him dazed and unable to walk for 45 minutes to an hour so I don't think he had a seizure. I have two other dogs and when they get excited they sometimes collide into each other and I have seen them come away with blood on their tongue from biting it. I know that they cannot do anything for the tongue. I am going to take him to the vet in the morning, but do you have any suggestions? :?:
