HELP STOP STUN GUN TESTS ON PIGS

According to the NY- and CA-based Farm Sanctuary, Dr. John Webster of the University of Wisconsin-Madison will soon undergo a two-year study on 30 pigs to determine whether Taser guns are safe for the police to use on humans. Some pigs will be subjected to electric shock, while others will be drugged with cocaine. Even though Amnesty International states that stun guns have killed people, Webster is determined to test his hypothesis that they do not.

But not everyone at the university agrees. The Associated Press recently reported that UW-Madisonís Professor Terry Young withdrew from the project in protest of these cruel experiments. ASPCA News Alert readers, please add your support and join Farm Sanctuaryís letter-writing campaign to express your concerns that these pigs will undergo unnecessary and unethical experimentation. Letters can be sent to: Dr. John G. Webster, University of Madison-Wisconsin, 2148 Engineering Centers Building, 1550 Engineering Dr., Madison, WI 53706; and John D. Wiley, Chancellor, University of Madison-Wisconsin, 161 Bascom Hall, 500 Lincoln Dr., Madison, WI 53706.

Please read this website for letter writing information and other actions you can take:
