I have been dabbling in animal portraitures. I enjoy trying to capture the soul of my subjects. I have many years to improve my skills but I will post my current work for any feedback anyone is willing to share.

This one is Cooper - a beautiful dog and a wonderful subject. I may do some touchups but I will be careful not to mess it up. Sad

Dog portraits - expecially when capturing the "feel" rather than being photographic - are difficult to do. I think that you have done very well, Bob. Is the neck really white, or you regard it a mere background?

Good question - it looks a little too white so most likely it was for background (it's amazing how much I can forget in a few weeks)

A coworker asked me if I could draw his dog. Here is my first attempt.

I like them all, Bob....but Cooper is my favourite!

I like the life and character you manage to capture in their faces.

Very nice! If those are starting portraits I can imagine what they will look like when you've had more practise! You will have to post how much your charging for a portrait
