View Full Version : Love bird issue

Hello, I have a peach faced lovebird (about 1 year old). I believe she is female but I am unsure. She was not hand tamed, but I got her pretty young and is quite social and affectionate (except for occassionally biting)
Recently I bought her a new sleeping hut (she broke the last one), this one is a different style but she seems to like it the same. Over the last week or so she has begun to tear the inside of it out and pull out the batting. She tore a hole in the bottom and stuffed the batting inside. Also her vagina seems to be swollen. Could anyone tell me if this is related to egg laying.

p.s. i only have one lovebird, she does not have a partner.

Any suggestions or comments would help, Thank you very much!

A Lovebird is one of nine species of the genus Agapornis (όρνις ornis 'bird'). They are a social and affectionate small parrot.
