Hey all,
I am new here and I am in the process of adopting a yellow collared mini macaw. He is around 13 and has been with his foster mom for about 2 years who he is very attached to. He steps up and down, kisses, is very comfortable with the towel etc. He is seemingly healthy, happy, talkative and VERY active. He ate out of my hand as well as my 2 daughters (ages 6 and 8) hands the first time we met him. We have met and played with him 3 times now. He is not comfortable when I move my hand towards him in a motion to entice him to step up for me and I realize this will take time.
I would love to hear from others who have had similar experiences and can help me with the best way to ease him into this big change he is about to go through as comfortably as possible?

Thanks in advance for any help!
